Roman Blind With Chain Control Installation Guide

Parts Included in Roman Blinds with Chain Control Kit

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. Please check that all parts have been supplied before you begin to assemble your new Roman Blind.

  2. The finished blind size is:

    • OUTSIDE Mount: as per size ordered.
    • INSIDE Mount: width less 10mm, drop less 20mm
  3. Ensure that the blind is mounted level for correct operation.

Positioning Blind

As per your order, determine the correct fitting location

  • inside the window frame (Inside Mount) or;
  • on the window frame or wall (Outside Mount)

Installing Mounting Brackets

Inside Mount

The Installation Brackets are fixed directly to the mounting surface, spaced evenly. Make sure all brackets are in a straight line so that the track will attach easily.

Outside Mount

The Installation Brackets are fixed directly to the architrave or wall, spaced evenly. Make sure all brackets are level. The brackets should not be installed on the very end of the track

Attaching Blind to Bracket

Position the back edge of the track into the back hooks of the installation bracket and gently push upwards and the track will “snap” into position. To remove the roman, press the release button on the front of the installation bracket and disengage track from brackets.

Operating Chain Control Roman Blind

To operate the blind successfully, raise and lower using the chain control. You must operate the chain, to raise the roman, in the reverse direction used to lower the roman. This will ensure the chain do not become entangled.

A Roman Blind may appear short in its drop on initial installation, however over a short period of time, the fabric will settle and sit at the correct drop length. Environmental conditions can also impact on the settling out process.

CHILD SAFETY FOR BLINDS WITH CHAIN CONTROL

WARNING:

THE CHAIN TENSION DEVICE MUST BE FITTED TO ENSURE CHILD SAFETY

The chain tension device must be fitted. It is to be positioned at the bottom of the chain loop. It can be fitted to the inside of the reveal (frame) or in the front of the reveal.

Child Safety Device

Fitting Instructions

Position the tension device at the bottom of the chain loop as shown per figure 1.

Positioning chain loop on roman blinds for child safety

Install the tension device onto the reveal (frame) making sure that the look chain hangs with minimal tension as shown per figure 2.

WARNING - ALL WINDOW COVERINGS WITH CORD OR CHAIN

To avoid creating a possible strangulation hazard for children, the corded or chained internal window covering must be installed in such a way that a loose cord or chain cannot form a loop 220mm or longer at a height of less than 1600mm above floor level.

  • A cord/chain guide may be installed lower than 1600mm above floor level if the cord/chain is sufficiently secured or tensioned to prevent a loop 220mm or longer from being formed.

  • If a cord/chain guide is installed lower than 1600mm above floor level, it must be designed to prevent a child from being able to remove the cord/chain.

  • If a cleat is used to secure the cord, it must be at least 1600mm above floor level because a child is capable of unwinding a cord from a cleat.
